i get a voltage reading of 14.5 +/- and the following DTC codes. P0622 Generator field terminal circuit. P1632 Smart alternator faults sensor/circuit. 14.5 is probably a bit on the low side for a 'smart' system, depending on how you are measuring it and whether it is the initial voltage or voltage after the charging system has settled down a bit.
If the fault lies elswhere (eg the VNT vanes) you could go through 100 actuators - its a bit like changing a fuse when you have a short (eg- changing the fuse does not solve the problem) - you must find the route cause of the problem
Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi engine failure - cheddar : I could say that my TDCi has done 106k etc etc though there is no point because all makes/models suffer occasional untypical issues. That being said I have heard of a TDCi bending a rod due to ECU / injector problems, perhaps this was a similar case.
Posted February 6, 2013. Check the fuel filter seal, they're supposed to be replaced when the fuel filter is swapped on a major service but sometimes it doesn't get done. An old seal will be less pliant and tend to not re-seat properly resulting in air being sucked into the system and causing fuelling problems. Quote.

Next time when I try to start a car it hardly turn on. It is cranking in pretty fast pace but it hardly starts. When it starts in runs normally, it doesnt have any particilar problem.
Warranty Direct figures show Ford as suffereing less problems than Toyota including fuel system issues. Re Mondeo TDCis: There are so many on the road inevitably a few problems appear on a site like this because people with problems gravitate to a site like this, Google TDCi problems and you get this site so it is not the tip of an iceberg.
