i get a voltage reading of 14.5 +/- and the following DTC codes. P0622 Generator field terminal circuit. P1632 Smart alternator faults sensor/circuit. 14.5 is probably a bit on the low side for a 'smart' system, depending on how you are measuring it and whether it is the initial voltage or voltage after the charging system has settled down a bit. If the fault lies elswhere (eg the VNT vanes) you could go through 100 actuators - its a bit like changing a fuse when you have a short (eg- changing the fuse does not solve the problem) - you must find the route cause of the problem Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCi engine failure - cheddar : I could say that my TDCi has done 106k etc etc though there is no point because all makes/models suffer occasional untypical issues. Check the fuel filter seal, they're supposed to be replaced when the fuel filter is swapped on a major service but sometimes it doesn't get done.
